“吃醋”一词的由来
吃醋是一个汉语词汇,拼音是chī cù。亦作“喫醋”。比喻产生嫉妒情绪。多指男女关系方面。吃醋是妒忌的同义词和比喻词。据传这个典故出自唐朝的宫庭里,唐太宗为了笼络人心,要为当朝宰相房玄龄纳妾,大臣之妻出于嫉妒,横加干涉,就是不让。太宗无奈,只得令大臣之妻在喝毒酒和纳小妾之中选择其一。没想到房夫人确有几分刚烈,宁愿一死也不在皇帝面前低头。于是端起那杯“毒酒”一饮而尽。当房夫人含泪喝完后,才发现杯中不是毒酒,而是带有甜酸香味的浓醋。从此便把“嫉妒”和“吃醋”融合起来,“吃醋”便成了嫉妒的比喻语。
