Teaching objectives:

By the end of class, Ss can achieve the levels like these:

1. All of Ss can master the new words: shower, thunder,thunderstorm, sunrise, sunset.Learn about the compound words and word-building.

2. 90%Ss can be able to master the sentences of describing the weather :

How is the weather?/What's the weather like?

What's the temperature? It will be reach 19 degrees.

3.Most of Ss can write the weather report in groups,and can talk about the weather icons.

Teaching important points:

Master  and use the four elements of the weather report in their daily life.

Teaching difficult points:

Be able to write and share the weather report by weather icons with partners.

Teaching methods: Task-based learning method.

Learning methods: Self-study and cooperation learning methods.

Teaching procedures:

Step1.Activity one: Brainstorming.

Spider  mind minp with the help of the weather icons.

(Aim:Revise the vocabulary about the weather and identify the weather icons.)

Step2. Activity two:Pre-task work.

Learn the text,compare the words by the way of  word-building.such as: sunrise, sunset.

(Aim:Learn to know the weather report.)

Step3.Activity three:Listening and reading.

Underline the related information of the weatherreport.

(Aim: Know about the four elements:the date, the weather, the temperature, the time of the sunrise and sunset.)

Step4.Activity four: Pairwork Think-pair-share.

Cloze and discussion , complete Let's do it one .

(Aim:Understand the dialogue. Learn about the weather report and find out the useful expressions.)

Step5. Activty five:Task repetition.

Repet the main task.

(Aim:Use the language more accurately)

Step6.Activity six:Evaluation.

Peer-editing.

(Aim:Evaluate and show the writing in class.)
