We all want to help one another.Human beings are like that.We want to live by each other’s happiness,not by each other’s misery,we don’t want to hate and despise one this world,there is room for everyone, and the good earth is rich... and can provide for everyone.
The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men’s souls,has barricaded the world with hate,has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want,our knowledge has made us cynical,our cleverness hard and unkind,we think too much and feel too little. More than machinery,we need humanity,more than cleverness,we need kindness and gentleness,without these qualities,life will be violent, and all will be lost.
The airplane and radio have brought us closer together. These very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men,cries out for universal brotherhood,for the unity of us all.
Even now,my voice is reaching millions throughout the world,millions of despairing men,women and little children,victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me, I say,do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass，and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die,liberty will never perish.
Soldiers,don’t give yourselves to brutes men who despise you,enslave you, who regiment your lives,tell you what to do,what to think, and what to feel,who drill you,diet you,treat you like cattle,use you as cannon fodder!Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men—machine men with machine minds and machine hearts. You are not machines!You are not cattle!You are men!You have the love of humanity in your hearts, you don’t hate,only the unloved hate,the unloved and the unnatural.
Soldiers,don’t fight for slavery,fight for liberty!In the 17th chapter of Saint Luke it is written: the kingdom of God is within men. Not one man nor not a group of men,but in all men—in you!
You the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness!You the people have to make this life free and beautiful,to make this life a wonderful adventure!
Then in the name of democracy,let us use that power!let us all unite!let us fight for a new world,a world that will give men a chance to work,that will give youth a future and old age a security.
By the promising of these things,brutes have risen to power. But thy lie!They don’t fulfill that promise,they never will!Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people.
Now let us fight to fulfill that promise!Let us to free the world-to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed,with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason,a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness.

生活的道路本可以是自由和美好的，但是我们迷失了方向。贪婪毒害了人们的灵魂，并用憎恨阻隔了世界，让我们一步步掉进同类相残的血腥苦难深渊。我们在快速地发展，但同时又自我封闭。本来是创造富足的机器工业却让我们陷入匮乏。我们的知识让我们变得乖戾，我们的聪明让我们冷酷无情，我们野心太大却缺乏感受。我们需要机器，但更需要人性；我们需要才智，但更需要仁慈和善良。没有这些品质，生活将变得充满暴力，一切都将荡然无存。
飞机和无线电拉近了我们的距离，这些发明的本意就是唤起人类的善良，唤起全世界人民的手足之情，让我们团结在一起。就是现在，我的声音正被全世界的千百万人听到，千百万绝望中的男人、女人和孩子，他们是那个肆意折磨和监禁无辜人民的残暴制度的受难者。对那些听到我讲话的人，我要说，不要绝望，现在压在我们头上的痛苦是那些惧怕人类进步之路的人的贪婪所种下的苦果。但是，人与人之间的仇恨终将消散，独裁者终将灭亡，而他们从人民手中攫夺的权力终将返归人民。只要人类尚存，自由就将不灭。
士兵们，不要为那些衣冠禽兽卖命了。他们轻视你们、奴役你们、操纵你们的生死、规定你们做什么、想什么、感受什么；他们整天操练你们，给你们洗脑，对待你们如同牲畜，把你们当成炮灰。不要听命于那些铁石心肠的战争机器，他们都是有着机器思想、长着机器心脏的机器人！你们不是机器！你们不是牲畜！你们是人！你们心中有着人类的爱。你们不要憎恨，只有无爱的人才会憎恨，那些无爱的人和疯子变态！
