charging

function within the telecommunications network and the associated OCS/BD components whereby information related to a chargeable event is collected, formatted, transferred and evaluated in order to make it possible to determine usage for which the charged party may be billed (offline charging) or the subscriber’s account balance may be debited (online charging).

• 计费
• Charging属于电信网络（telecommunications network ）内
• 狭义上的charging 功能是收集计费要素，（采集，格式化，转换及评估 ）用于后续计费的信息
• 广义上charging可以认为是整个计费系统

rating

The Rating Function (RF) determines the value of the network resource usage . The rating output is monetary or non-monetary units.

• 定价
• 以货币或者非货币单位来确定网络资源使用量的价值

billing

function whereby CDRs generated by the charging function(s) are transformed into bills requiring payment.

• 开具账单
• 把charging生成的CDRs 转换成待付费账单（bills）

Billing Domain

part of the operator network, which is outside the core network, which receives and processes CDR files from the core network charging functions.

• 账务域
• 属于运营商网络的一部分，核心网之外
• 接受来自计费系统的 CDR 文件

accounting

process of apportioning charges between the Home Environment, Serving Network and Subscriber.

离线计费Offline Charging

在3GPP的架构中，离线计费模式Charging包含 CTF，CDF，CGF

• CTF:Charging Trigger Function ，通过观察网络资源使用量来生产计费事件
• CDF:Charging Data Function ，接收计费事件，生产 CDR（未批价）
• CGF:Charging Gateway Function，将CDR持久化成文件，传递给Billing域
  对于CDR定价rating的功能，在Offline Charging模式中是不存在的，需要Billing完成。

在线计费Online Charging

Online Charging

• CTF:Charging Trigger Function ，通过观察网络资源使用量来生产计费事件
• OCF:Online Charging Function，在线计费，提供会话型计费和事件型计费能力
• ABMF:Account Balance Management Function，存放用户的账户余额信息
• RF:Rating Function，确定网络资源使用量的价值
  OnlineCharging模式下，OCF也可以生成CDR供后续使用
