Lateral.侧面  This refers to something that is closer to the side of the body and is in direct opposition to the term “medial”. The lateral malleolus is the bony prominence on the outside of the ankle and is differentiated from the medial malleolus, which is located on the inside of the ankle.

Medial. This is the term used to describe something located more to the middle or midline of the body. It can be in the torso, arms, legs, or head. The medial meniscus is the portion of the knee (cartilag 软骨) located on the inside portion of the knee. It is used to distinguish it from the lateral meniscus 外侧半月板 on the outside of the knee.

侧面 这是指更靠近身体的一侧，与“内侧”正好相反，外踝关节是踝关节外侧凸出骨头。与踝关节内侧的内踝有所区分。

内侧 这是描述身体中线的某物体，它可能是躯干 手臂 腿部 头部，内侧半月板是位于膝关节内侧的软骨。它用来以区分膝盖外侧半月板。
