This time I want to write all of the rest because I am afraid that with time passing by, some valuable memeory with details will be forgotten.
After that day we went to the Universal Studios, it came the weekend. I like weekend because there was no homework. Ok, just kidding. Because at weekend, my American parents would take me out to have fun which would give me a chance to experience the real life of Americans. On Saturday, my American parents took me to the San Bernardino County Museum. They told me it was just a small one. However, I was attracted by it. In China, you can see 'no touch' everywhere in the museum, but in this museum it writes 'touch'. There are also many activites in the museum which can get you involved in the knowledge. Chinese museums focus more on the logic of display which I think is better than that in American museums.Every Sunday, it was time to do the cleaning, the laundry and prepare for the following week. So, we went shopping and then didi the laundry and helped our host family do the cleaning. Nothing special.
The end … The end … The end …Day 11
Ok, it came the new week. It was a little different today. Because we didn't have to go to the study centre. Since we didn't have time to go shopping in the big malls, our coordinator had make the plan to drive us to Outlets this time. Since my luggage has been broken the first day I came here, so this was such a good news for me. I bought a new luggage for myself and one handbag for my mom and one handbag for my aunt. So tired.
Day 12
This day was my long-awaited day. It came to the water treatment tour. Since my graduation thesis was about the wasterwater treatment, I can't be familiar with this topic anymore. When we were in the Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA), I listened to the instructor most carefully during these days. I tried to compare the treat methods in this American plant with the one I visited in China. In fact, there are litltle differences between the principles. However, in America the capital source is from the government and the local city themselves while in China it is from the government itself. Therefore, the effect in America is a little better than that in China.
The end … The end … The end …Here, I'd like to tell you a little more basic information about water treatment. There are mainly three methods to treat the wastewater: the physical treatment method, the chemical treatment method and the bioremediation treatment method. The first one is the basic one and all the water treatment must be based on this one with two or more methods.
The main stages of water treatment at VVWRA can be included into:
Though the total amount of water source is similar, the per capita number in America is much higher than in China. The wastewater treatment capacity of America has reached a higher level with the development of technology and both the two countries’ cyclic utilization rate is higher and higher.
Day 13
Now, it came to the LA tour. As time limited, I didn't see the real face of the LA. We just went to the Staples Center, Griffith Observatory, Hollywood and the Farmer's Market. There wasnothing special in Staples Center and it was just a sports hall now where Michael Jackson played the last time. The Griffith Observatory was really a good place to visit. The astronomy knowledge it contained was very vivid. If all the knowledge could be told like this, learning will be easier and more interesting. The famous Hollywood was very lively, as well as many liers. The place I like most was the Farmer's Market. There were stores selling food, clothes, make-ups and so on. I even can spend a whole day there not feeling bored.
The end … The end … The end …Day 14
In our plan, everyone would take a presentation for the appointed subject. So after doing the ecology and environment workshop, our coordinator gave us some time to prepare it. In the afternoon, he took us to play bowling. It was my first time to play it, so I felt so nervous and excited. After throwing the big 'ball' , there are chips to eat and cola to drink. Haha, what a capitalist corruption?
The end …Day 15
This was a big day. In the morning, everyone would do a presentation to all the students, teachers and the host family members to show what you had learnt during these days. I went to bed very late last day to prepare the Power Point which would be used today with my dear roomate as well as my best friend Keke. We used the special actions in the PPT which got a good praise. Both Keke and I did the presentation perfectly.
The end …All things must have an end, either the good ones or the bad ones. Now it finally came to the time to say goodbye to my host family and my dear coordinator. It was the last day to share with them together, so our coordinator prepared the dinner for all of the participants. All my schoolmates and their host family have dinner together and after which we held the Chinese Culture Night with giving performance to the host family. I played a dance to the 'Blue and white porcelain' song by Keke. I also wrote a letter for my dear American family. I would come back……
The end … The end … The end … The end … The end …The next following days we went on a trip to the north of California-San Francisco. As you know, San Francisco is in the north of California while the LA is in the south, so it is such a long journey which took almost 8 and a half hours to get there. The hotel we lived was very good even with a swimming pool on the first floor. We went to visit UC Berkely, Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf on the first day; the Standford University and Outlets on the second day. And on the third day we got up at 3;00 a.m. to take the early flight. Ok, it was time to say goodbye to this beautiful and amazing country. I am sure I will come back!
The end … The end …
