What is this? It is new year Flag. How many of you have set your year2019 flags?

some people like money setting flag: sudden wealth in year2019. (I hope it this life)

some people like running setting flag: finish Marathon within 3 hours. (I hope it next life)

some people like staying late at night: Go to bed before 11pm. (I did that last night). 

I laughed at another people’s flag. When I set my own flag, I Find it is NOT funny at all. It is NOT easy.  Because when you set a flag, if you miss it; you will find yourself a loser;

If you realize it, you may find the flag is meaningless to you.

So, I set, set and reset. today, I want to talk about “RESET”.  RESET : 复位，清零，热启动。

It is always difficult to reset. especially in the starting up phase.

Just like this speech, Wenyi came to me and encouraged me to start my Very first speech in Pathway last year. VPE Ruby asked me: what is your speech topic? Xuhong chased me during weekend when is your speech ready? Here I am, reset my speech journey in Pathway.

To me “Reset” has 2nd meaning: here is story.

During past weekend, I joined a Super Marathon friendship contest between: Tsinghua & Peking university. There are about 35 members from each school, each people won some points based on distance he/she run (like half marathon, 30Km, Marathon and Super marathon about 48KM). Collective total score will decide the winner.

We start @ningguo Road ferry crossing. At 7:00am. It was dark, cold and raining.

We got white hats and red gloves and we took the 1st collective pic with slogan:

北清碰头, 隔壁加油! Then we started to run in the cold rain, we have to be hurry, as we need to catch the ferry in Xupu daqiao before 10:00am. Meaning we need to finish 25 KM within 2 hours 40 minutes. and not surprisingly our shoes got wet in the 1st 5KM. and

2 times we are in the wrong ways, but quickly back on track. There were some fun as we can talk to “strangers”: like what is your name? which grade. like our ice-breaking speech today, but we deliver as we run forward.

I felt tired and hungry when arrived at xupu bridge ferry @9:50am. Thanks goodness, some volunteers provided “hot ginner sugar water”, bread and banana. those are “life savers” during the cold wind with wet clothes. there we took the 2nd collective photo with slogan : 北清联谊, 干倒隔壁!

Then we crossed the river from PU xi to Pudong, we found the wind is bigger and It was against heads wind. the 2nd journey got tougher. We ran as a team.

We encouraged each other, and some “strangers” gave me the “energy bar”.

And there were people shouting : Hot coffee is waiting for us in Lu jiazui.. and It is Free.

No matter what vision you have in head, you need to move your legs and feet running toward it.. Xupu, lupu, 梅塞德斯，中国馆，nanpu bridge.. where is star bucks? the 1st time in my life, I am eager for secret mermaid half naked girl. since she has hot coffee.

Finally, we finish Marathon, I drank the 1st coffee in year2019. I hate coffee before, but that coffee, it was so delicious.

We finished the last 6 KM. slowly but with excitement. We took the last collective pic at xiepu ferry crossing with slogan : 北清联谊，我爱隔壁。

Within 5 minutes we took ferry back to ningguo road, where we started our running and it took us 5 hours to runback.  back to the starting point like A RESET…

I ask myself: does it deserve it?  just 5 hours suffering and back to starting point.

It is just a little flag, Totally we run: 2313KM. That is amazing.

Many of us say: I will not do this stupid thing with such a big team. and this flag and goal is combined self with team.  It really deserved it.

Look at this flag again.

The easiest flag is: go to bed early. (just sleep like a PIG) – you know this year is good for sleep;

It is getting difficult for achievement: like 3 hours to finish marathon. ( 69 year old 大爷from shanghai achieved it on this weekend in Xiamen Marathon )

But it is so difficult for me to find the sudden wealth person around us.

There are, as they are still working hard or work as team, some years later, you will find. I know that guy.

Set your flag, no matter you may fail or succeed. You will finally be reset by time someday, some year. So, Reset yourself by new flag, a new speech & It is never too late to reset your life.
