Since the mid of the 20th century, technology has been developed significantly, which has brought a huge impact on our lives, especially childrens'. Some people believe that this improvement of technology has many advantages, while others argue that it comes with negative effects. In this essay, I will discuss the detrimental aspects of high-tech brings about on both society and family life.

The rapid advancement of today's technology, the cutting-edge invention, which has led to many diseases spreading globally. Nowadays, people incorporate various entertainment activities into their lives, whereby sedentary lifestyle. Take, for example, according to the recent study, which was conducted in China University of Science and Technology, approximately 50% of youngsts have been suffering from types of diseases(obesity, diabetes, myopia, etc.) due to sitting for long hours playing their digital devices, such as smart phone, tablet, and computer. Thus, the development of machinery has contributed to the spread of unhealthy life, i.e. detrimental to the stability of society.

On the other hand, the fast progression of digital equipment and software affects badly in terms of family member relationships. Firstly, as the younger family member, children tend to spend less hours together with their parents and elder generation than they were in the past. Followed by the recent study that there is a trend, which shows adolescent tend to pay more attention on video games, social mobile apps. People have been staying on the internet for longer time, while take very little time with their close family members or not at all, therefore, children have been isolated, kept staying within the virtual world, which could cause psychological illness, harmful to their normal study and life.
