Auspicious Things（Narrative）

I never thought that, sometimes, auspicious things would come to me in this way.

One day in May 2013, I bought a carton of milk from the grocery store as usual. When I put it in the refrigerator, I found the words "Prize Activity" on the milk carton. I picked it up and studied the instructions carefully, then opened the carton to look for possible good luck.

Generally speaking, if I am lucky, there are the words "one more bottle" which means I can take this empty carton and get another free carton of milk. I never expected to find myself winning a big prize——traveling to South Korea. I could not believe it! I looked at it again and again and found that it was true that the prize was won, and it was within the validity period of the prize-winning event.

When my husband came home, I told him that I had won a prize for a trip abroad. He said:" Honey, April Fool's Day has already passed. Do not make fun of me.”

Three months later, when I asked the company for leave to go to South Korea to claim the prize, all my colleagues thought I was kidding them.

On August 24, 2013, I boarded the plane to South Korea without spending a penny. There were 6 people in our traveling group. Milk company employees told me that they had sold 3 million cartons of milk, only six of which had the " big prize" sign. I was really excited to win this award. It was an auspicious thing! Moreover, this was my first trip to South Korea. I could not describe my excitement and happiness.

In South Korea, I visited many interesting places, experienced Korean culture and customs, tasted special delicious food, and took a boat out to sea to catch fish.

Sometimes, once a good thing starts, it will go on and on.

I had never fished before, but what excited me was that on the vast blue sea, I, a lady who could not fish at all, caught a big fish shortly after I was out on the sea. There were more than 10 people on the board. I was the only one who caught a fish in the whole process. It was an auspicious thing! It made me scream with excitement, and I could not calm down for a long time.

This trip to South Korea not only broadened my vision and allowed me to experience foreign cultures, but it also made me feel auspicious. This happiness has affected my feeling about life for a long time.
