Ok, I'd like to tell you the story I traveled with one of my best friends to the city of Xi'an. Her name is Shirley. We went there by rail. As you might've heard of, Xi'an is a city of more than 2000-year history. So there are many places I wanna visit, historical sites, ancient towers, temples, and museums. So I discussed with Shirley on the eve of our trip. And she said the trip for her was very simple. She would follow me wherever I go. I said ok, so I planned the trip in detail and was very excited to be there. However, the trip was very boring. not because I didn't enjoy all the history of the city. but because I didn't get to enjoy any of that. Most of the historical places required an entrance ticket, which was between 50 yuan to about 200 yuan. My friend thought they were too expensive and persuaded me to save the money to eat some local food. And when I changed my plan to the discovery of local delicious street food, she refused to eat anything looked suspicious and different. So we end up having some really unauthentic food. She didn't like them, either. We spent 2 days there and then went back home. I was bored because I didn't get to do anything I planned and most importantly, I didn't know anything more about the city after the trip.

· Why do people get bored?

Well, people feel bored when there is nothing new. Like my trip to the city of Xi`an. Also, a long time of repetitive work would also be boring, when there isn't much fun left. For example, people tend to change their job after they can't enjoy any aspect of it. the work itself, the relationship with colleagues, or a chance to improve ourselves.

· Why are people less interested in reading books nowadays?

Well, time is changing. We are in the age of information. The news from social media are more than enough for a grown man to read for a few hours. And all we need is a smartphone, which is light and can be carried everywhere around. I think these are the two reasons.

· Are all the boring jobs going to be done by robots in the future?

Yes, definitely, not just those so-called 'boring jobs', like mechanically assembling cars or manufacturing clothes, but some of the work that would have potential risks, like fire rescuing. We won't need firefighters to walk into the dangerous fire zones to save us, but a well designed artificial intelligence.
