作者：克里斯蒂娜·罗塞蒂（1830－1894）：英国女诗人，“拉斐尔前派”著名画家但丁·加百利·罗塞蒂的妹妹。代表作《小妖精的集市》。弗吉尼亚·沃尔夫十分推崇她，说罗塞蒂“歌唱得好像知更鸟，有时又像夜莺”。 她的诗歌朴实清新，带着比较浓的悲观情调，可能与她爱情的两次破灭有关。罗塞蒂两次恋爱，都因为宗教上信仰上的分歧而破裂。
