Yesterday, I wondered about some visions in Lehi's dream. Fortunately, Chapter 11 explaines it. The rod of iron was the word of God, which led us to the fountain of living water and tree of life. The living water and tree of life were a representation of the love of God. And the great and spacious building was the pride of the world, and it fell since the people in the building against the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Moreover, Nephi saw a virgin who was most beautiful, exceedingly fair and white, and the Redeemer of the world, and also twelve apostles following him.
In my point of view all of these showed that God loves his children, all the visions Nephi had seen proved the condescension of God. And it reminded me of Jeff's favorite scripture:"The god have mercy on the people,cause giving them her only son." It corroborated the content of 1 Nephi-Chapter 11. They mean the same thing. Since God loves us, he let his only son come to our world, and gave us a rod of iron, tree of life, living water.
So I think the most important theme in Chapter 11 was the condescension of God and the love he gave us. It is the love of god, which is shown in the hearts of the children of men!
