    新概念英语第二册 Lesson 68: Persistent

    I crossed the street to avoid meeting him, but he saw me and came running towards me. It was no use pretending that i had not seen him, so I waved to him. I never enjoy meeting Nigel Dykes. He never has anything to do. No matter how busy you are, he always insists on coming with you. I had to think of a way of preventing him from following me around all morning.

    'Hello, Nigel,' I said. 'Fancy meeting you here!'

    'Hi, Elizabeth,' Nigel answered. 'I was just wondering how to spend the morning, until i saw you. You're not busy doing anything, are you?'

    'No, not at all,' I answered. 'I'm going to...'

    'Would you mind my coming with you?' he asked, before I had finished speaking.

    'Not at all,' I lied, 'but I'm going to the dentist.'

    'Then I'll come with you,' he answered. 'There's always plenty to read in the waiting room!'

知识笔记：

    单词/词组:（每个单词/词组自己造一个句子）

        - cross the street to do，过马路就直接可以说cross the street. eg. I crossed the street to go to the shopping mall.

        - came running towards me，就表示跑过来找我. eg. He came running towards me with yelling.

        - It was no use pretending that，再假装也没有用了. eg. It was no use pretending that I was reading working files. 

        - He never has anything to do，就表示“他整天无所事事的”。

        - insist on，坚持。eg. He always insists on his opinions. 

        - think of a way of，想到一个xxx办法。eg. He thinks of a way of solving problems. I need to think of a way of coming out this meeting. 

        - 'Fancy meeting you here!’ 除了 nice to meet you，另外一种表达。

        - Would you mind my coming with you? 可以直接接my coming，表示跟着你。

练习感悟：

Thoughts: 每日精进就是确认自己的朗读首先自己挑不出问题了（朗读+复述）。

- 今天的朗读还算顺畅，而且有起伏有感情地朗读，感觉比之前进步了。避免这些只是自己的感觉，在录完音之后又会听了几遍，发现确实流畅了，也有些感情，但是并没有自己自以为的那么好，单词发音不准确还是存在，语句的staircase 发音不太自然。还是需要继续改进。
