• "I cannot play with you," the fox said. "I am not tamed."

tame 驯化，驯服
这个也是小狐狸带给小王子的最重要哲理，原来法文的apprivoiser，英文译成tame，而我们中文译者，对这个词也是一换再换，一开始从英文直接用“驯养”，后来又觉得口语化更好，从“跟…处熟”到“跟…要好”，到现在又回到大家广泛采用的“驯服”或“驯养”，因为觉得原版法文的apprivoiser确实是一个不那么口语化，不是平时儿童用语，然而到底应该怎么翻，谁也不能说服谁。

• "It is an act too often neglected," said the fox. It means to establish ties."

neglected 忽视；忽略
establish 建立，开始（联系）。 有些中文译本会把establish ties 翻译成“建立羁绊”，很文艺，可是孩子们看得懂么？establish ties with 和 establish contact with 一样，都是比较常见的“建立联系”的用法，常用机构之间和外交之间很正式的场合。

perplexed 困惑的；迷惑不解的
curious 好奇的

• My life is very monotonous

monotonous 单调乏味的；毫无变化的

• Yours will call me, like music, out of my burrow.

burrow (兔子等动物掘的）洞穴，地洞

yonder （over there的过时或方言用语）那里，那边

• One must observe the proper rites

observe 遵守，奉行（法律、习俗等）。observe一词多义哦。
rite （传统的）仪式，典礼

• because it is she that I have listened to, when she grumbled, or boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing.

grumble 抱怨；发牢骚
boast 吹嘘；炫耀；夸耀

• It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.

essential 绝对必要的；必不可少的；基本的
这句很哲理，不过我更喜欢下一句
