The powerful intercession

And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. --- Ephesians6:18

When we intercede, we find that obedience to God has more to do with the gain and loss of others than we can imagine. But there is a danger that those whom God hears prayer is gradually elevated into a different realm, then we use compassion to intercede. Once we move from caring for others with God to intercession with compassion, the connection with God is lost. By incorporating compassion into intercession, we deliberately contradict God.

We cannot intercede effectively unless we know God fully. One of the most divisive forces in our relationship with God is personal compassion and prejudice. Identification is the key of intercession. Once we cease to be of one mind with God, it is compassion, not sin, that doesn’t necessarily hinder our relationship with God. In the compassion of ourselves or the compassion of others, let’s say, “I don’t want this to happen.” In this way, the relationship with God was immediately broken.

Intercession has no time and no inclination to pray for one’s own sorrow. You do not have to eliminate their own sorrow, because there should be no part of their own in it. You are in God’s heart, completely caring for others. 进 God calls us to intercede for others to discern, not to carp. 

Dear God, when we begin to “pray for our nation” in our morning prayers, pray for your spirit to guide us.
