Forty-six years after its release, John Lennon’s classic song "Imagine" is formally getting a co-writer -- his widow, Yoko Ono. 约翰·列侬（John Lennon）的金曲在发行46年后，终于署上了另一位创作者——小野洋子（列侬遗孀）的名字。
The British musician first gained worldwide fame in the early 1960s, as a member of The Beatles. 20世纪60年代初，作为披头士乐队成员的列侬开始走红。
The group officially broke up in 1970, shortly after Lennon married Ono, a Japanese singer and activist. 1970年，该组合正式解散，而列侬与日籍歌手兼活动家的小野洋子刚新婚不久。

The song was released in 1971. It called for peace during the Vietnam War, and urged people around the world to live in unity. 这首歌于1971年诞生。这首歌反对越南战争呼吁和平，号召全世界的人们团结一致。
Its message, music experts say, has remained important and relatable through the years. 音乐专家称，歌词所表现的内涵虽历经多年却依旧发人深省。

His wife, Yoko Ono, watched as Lennon sat at the white grand piano....and virtually completed the song." 列侬在爱妻小野洋子的陪伴下，在卧室的白色钢琴前创作了这首金曲。”
That story, however, changed this week at a National Music Publishers Association event in New York City. 然而本周，在纽约美国国家音乐出版社协会的一个活动上，这则唯美的故事发生了转折。
On Wednesday evening, the association honored "Imagine" with its song of the century award. 周三晚间，该协会授予《Imagine》世纪金曲奖。
Its chief executive, David Israelite, also made a surprise announcement. 该协会的首席执行官大卫·伊斯列特（David Israelite）还发表了一则意外声明。
He said Ono would officially receive credit as a co-writer of "Imagine." 他表示，小野洋子正式被认可为《Imagine》的合创者。
Israelite said the decision was made based on Lennon’s wishes. 伊斯列特指出，该一决定是列侬的心愿。
John Lennon himself said in a 1980 interview with the BBC that Ono played a role in writing the song. 1980年，列侬接受BBC采访时表示，小野洋子在创作这首歌曲时发挥了重大作用。
He said it "should be credited as a Lennon-Ono song, because a lot of it, the lyric and the concept, came from Yoko." 他称，这首歌“应当是列侬和洋子二人创作的结晶，因为其中大段的歌词和作曲都来自于洋子”。
Lennon also said that some of the ideas of "Imagine" came from Ono’s book "Grapefruit," and that not including her as a writer was "selfish" on his part. 列侬还表示，创作《Imagine》的一些灵感源于洋子的诗集《葡萄柚》，没有将洋子列为作者是他“私心”作祟。
Parts of that interview were played Wednesday during the announcement. 周三的声明中还公开了部分访谈内容。

Ono and her son, Sean, attended the event to accept the song award. 小野洋子和儿子肖恩出席了该授奖活动。
Israelite’s announcement, however, came as a surprise. 然而，伊斯列特的这一声明却是出乎所有人的预料。
Sean Ono Lennon told Billboard magazine that Wednesday "may have been the happiest day of mine and my mother’s life." 肖恩·列侬对《滚石》杂志表示，周三“也许是我和母亲一生中最开心的一天”。
He also described the surprise announcement on Facebook. 他还在Facebook上表达了看到声明时的惊喜。
