Tiger Son 老虎儿子

今天学习了"男孩故事"英文书中的"老虎儿子"这一课,一方面是这个故事比较简单,另一方面也许是因为经过前两天的训练,英语的感觉慢慢找回来了,这一课的学习明显觉得轻松了许多。真是一个不错的开始。晚上儿子睡之前交待我好好学,明天再教给他, 希望能通过这些小故事,让知识和快乐一起在家里传播。

An elderly widow, Chen Ma lived with her only son in a village. Her son was one of the tiger hunters. His share of the profits was sufficient to keep them well. During a storm, her son was separated from his fellow hunters and became food for a hungry tigress. She implored the magistrate for compensation. The magistrate decreed that she would have a small share of profits by the hunters. But the hunters gave her the tigress's newborn cub.

一个上了年纪的寡妇陈妈, 和他的儿子住在一个村子里。她的儿子作为一个捕虎的猎人, 收入颇丰足够维持他们富足的生活. 在一场暴风雨里,她的猎人儿子与其他猎人走散,成了一个饥饿的雌虎的口中餐。老妇人向法官请求补偿,法官判定其他猎人们需要分给老妇人小部分利润, 但是猎人们却给了她那只雌虎刚刚生下来的幼崽----一只小老虎。

After the hunters left, Chen Ma untied the rope from the little tiger's neck and fed him a paste of cooked roots with her fingers. Her son had a good supply of grains and roots in the attached shed and she planned to stretch the food out to last the winter. She named her Fu Chee.
By next winter, Fu Chee had grown into tiger. After death of Chen Ma, Fu Chee guarded her tomb nightly. Then on day the tiger was seen no more.

陈妈墓旁有一座小纪念碑，是猎人们在上面刻上了关于"福气"的故事。

读后感:
在残忍的食物链里遇到了温情; 以捕杀老虎为生的猎人,却也不幸成为老虎的口中餐,老虎吃了人, 生下幼崽却又成了人类的儿子, 守护喂养它长大的人类母亲,陈妈是宽容的,小老虎是有灵性懂得感恩的,从这个故事里看到了生活,看到了宽容,看到了感恩,也看到了乐观。收获多多。
