This paper demonstrates an analysis of audiences in the Globe Airline Case. If you could give me some comments and advice on this analysis, that will be very helpful.

It starts with identifying all the audiences and separates audiences into five categories. The initial audience is the first audience to get my message. In Globe, my supervisor Rita Simmons needs to approve before I send the letter. So, Rita Simmons is the initial audience. Gatekeeper has the power to stop mymessage. In Globe, my supervisor Rita Simmons can authorize or stop me fromsending the message. Therefore, she is also the gatekeeper. The primaryaudience will act on the message. In Globe, Lyn Smith will decide whether toaccept my recommendations, so she is my primary audience. The second audiencegives comments on the message after approval. In Globe, the second audience canbe others in the company, lawyers outside the company, or Lyn Smith’s Husband.Watchdog audience has political, social, economic power that can affect thecompany. In Globe, BlueSky Air can be the watchdog audience who will act basedon this massage. For example, BlueSky Air may decide to change agreements oroperations between Globe. The media can also be a watchdog audience that willaffect Globe if Lyn Smith chooses to report the issue through media.

Then,I dig into a detailed analysis of the primary audience—Lyn Smith. Lyn Smith iswriting a complaint letter to Globe, so she has negative feelings about thecompany. Looking at the tone and the structure of the complaint letter, Iconclude that Lyn Smith is angry at Globe and very emotional. She spends mostof the paragraphs talks about how terrible her life recently be and try to gainempathy from the reader. To avoid raising oral quarrels and fall into traps, I thinka written channel will be more appropriate to communicate in this case. Whenresponse the letter, I need to be polite and rational without using phrasesthat are unclear or rude to calm her down. The style and format of the responseshould be formal and well-organized. As an employee of Globe, I need to show myprofessionalism and sincerity in dealing with this issue. Besides, sentencesshould be simple, understandable, and free from repetitions and errors. In thecomplaint letter, Lyn Smith asks for Globe’s explanations and compensations. Also, Lyn Smith has made up her mind and is highly resistant to change. I canuse more positive emphasis and start with benefits for readers. Put good newsin the first paragraph makes it easier to persuade the audience. I should usemore you-attitude when explaining reader benefits and focusing on what LynSmith can get.

Thankyou for taking the time to consider my request. If you are willing to provideany thoughts about my analysis, that will be very helpful.
