Three days since Brunei imposed death by stoning for gay sex, the University of Oxford has said it will review an honorary degree awarded to the country's ruler in 1993.

The university initially said it "will not be rescinding" the academic honour, but released a new statement on Saturday after widespread condemnation and a 50,000-strong petition.
