There is no doubt that it is important for children to learn about history in school.however,the question that whether students should study local history or world history is heated discussed nowadays.i believe that school children should learn both local history and world history.
Admittedly,it is necessary for children to learn their history and culture.this is because people tend to learn some lessons from their history.for example,when some nations or countries made some mistakes in the past,in the future they will be likely to avoid the same or similar mistakes so that they will have more chances to go smoothly.another reason is that once one nation or country learn about their own history,especially for those nations with splendid culture and long history,people in these counties may feel proud of their history and culture.for example,nearly every chinese students have to learn about history of china.after they know well about the chinese history,they are likely to love their country more so that this kind of country will develop much better.
Howeer,it does not mean that learning world history is not important.as globalization trend is not reversed,people have to contact with people from various areas in world.in order to better cooperate with people from different backgrounds,we have to know them well.as a result,we have to learn about their history,culure and so on.therefore learning world history is equally important.in addition,people can also learn lessons from history of other countries.
