知道电影《别告诉她》-The Farewell， 得了电影奖，读了一下简介，就抽时间看了一遍想知道个究竟。电影以一家人围绕是否要把实情告诉身患癌症的奶奶为主线，穿插讲述了一大家人的故事，涉及到对中西文化差异的认知和再思考问题。老奶奶患了癌症，作为子女是应该，还是不应该告诉她呢？哪个做法更正确合理呢？
电影导演大概是为了拍的更接近实际生活，同时能有效向西方社会传递东方的文化风俗，故事的节奏似乎慢了半拍。故事的另一个主角，从美国回中国探视奶奶的孙女拿到了医院报告但不认识中文，她认为应该告诉奶奶实情，有意无意间把医院检查报告送到了奶奶手里。不得不说，这个故事的后半部分是有些感人之处。
