I am a girl who grew up by the sea, so I like the sea very much. Not only like its tempestuous waves, but also like its calm. Today's sea is very calm, there is no ripple, far away, sea and sky are uniform, like a calm ink painting, quiet and peaceful. I think, the sea is not only a touch of blue, but also a wisdom, a representative of spirit, and a broad mind. The sea can relax me and give me a sense of relief. I like to stay at the seaside and look at the sea, as well as the people who look at the sea. Maybe it's still a little cold. There aren't many people on the beach. Only a few parents, with their children still learning to speak. The children ran left and right to the sea. I strolled along the seashore, watching gulls in twos and threes, sometimes flying on the sea, sometimes staying on the sea; looking at the white sails in the distance, like feathers, floating slowly on the sea which is in harmony with the sky. I like this feeling which let my heart like the sea, very calm, no matter what worries, as if it will flow with the sea to the distant.

Today is China's traditional festival, the Spring Festival. Every year’s Spring Festival, we all spend with my grandparents, and we get together for a happy holiday. In fact, the Spring Festival is not only a festival for Chinese people, but also the beginning of a new year, when families get together in a year. There is a saying in China: Whether you have money or not, go home to celebrate the Spring Festival. No matter how far away from home, whether poor or rich, the yearning for family has never diminished. Spring Festival's Eve dinner is an indispensable part of every family's Spring Festival celebration. We cooked a table of food like chicken, duck, fish and meat. Everyone will raise their glasses to celebrate the coming of the new year and draw a happy ending for the past year. After dinner, everyone in the family sat around the TV and watched the Spring Festival Gala, the songs, dances and sketches of the Spring Festival Gala. Generally, the atmosphere of the Spring Festival usually lasts for about 15 days. The festival’s joyous atmosphere will not end until the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first lunar month.

Today is a very common day. I got up early in the morning, probably this is the only day of the winter vacation. I came to the beach to watch the sunrise. Looking a little yellow ball in red rising from the hillside to the sky little by little. At about 8 o'clock, I left the beach and had breakfast in the street snack bar. After breakfast, I took a bus to the cinema. The buses is double-decker bus. I sat on the upper floor. Looking at the tall buildings in this city, I felt there were some different things between usual. In the cinema, I watched a movies adapted from Liu Cixin’s novel, Wandering the Earth. The story tells us that the solar system is about to be destroyed and is no longer suitable for human survival. In order to survive, human beings have built many engines on the earth, trying to take the earth away from the solar system and wander in the galaxy to find a place suitable for human survival. After watching the movie, I went to the supermarket. After that I went home for lunch.

Lantern Festival, also known as Shangyuan Festival, is the last day of the Spring Festival and the first full moon of the new year. Lanterns have been part of Chinese life for centuries so it's not surprising to see a festival of lanterns. People usually hang lanterns in the gardens,outside the houses,and on the boats. Previously, these lanterns were the landmarks to guide the souls of guests and ancestors into the celebration of the lunar calendar. After a grand feast of fifteen days, these lanterns illuminated the way for souls to return to the world. Now, these lanterns are much better for viewing. People will take pictures with all kinds of lanterns. Different styles of lanterns are popular every year. The Lantern Festival also has special food belonging to the festival which is called Tangyuan. These are round dumplings made with sticky rice flour. The round shape of the dumpling is a symbol of wholeness,completeness and unity. The Lantern Festival is an occasion for families to get together and for everyone--young,old,rich and poor to have fun.

Mahjong is the quintessence of China which is the product of generations of wisdom accumulated by Chinese ancients. My grandmother likes playing mahjong very much. She is a loyal fan of mahjong. When I was a child, my grandmother began to teach me how to play mahjong and rules of Mahjong. I play mahjong with my grandma every Spring Festival. Playing mahjong with my grandmother often reminds me of the wonderful time when my grandmother accompanied me when I was young. The days were carefree and happy every day. Mahjong must be played by four people, who are called bankers. Everyone takes a set of mahjong cards in his hand at the beginning and changes them into a specific combination through several rounds of substitution. The person who is the first to finish is the winner. Mahjong has different rules in different places. Because playing mahjong involves certain forms of integrals, playing mahjong is prohibited in some forms. Of course, playing mahjong at home is just a form of entertainment. Let's relax in the festive atmosphere. Sometimes, Mahjong does not depend on technology, but on luck.
