Risk nothing

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.

若是笑，便冒着被嘲笑的风险

To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.

若是哭，便冒着被人看作软弱的风险

To reach out for another is to risk involvement.

若是伸出手去，便冒着与他纠缠不清的风险。

To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.

若是暴露了自己的感情，便冒着暴露真我的风险

To place your ideas, your visions and your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.

若是在众人面前展现你的想法、理想和梦想，便冒着不被别人理解的风险。

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

若是爱，便冒着不被爱的风险。

To live is to risk dying.

若是活着，便冒着死去的风险。

To hope is to risk despair.

若是希望，便冒着失望的风险。

To try is to risk failure.

若是尝试，便冒着失败的风险

But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

但是必须冒险，因为生活中最可怕的莫过于不冒任何的风险。

The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing and feels nothing.

They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love or live.

如果不冒险，也许便没有了痛苦悲伤，但是也无法学习、感受、改变、成长、爱或生活。

Chained by their attitudes, they are a slave, they have forfeited their freedom.

Only a person who risks everything, is truly free.
