    A Tale of Two Cities

Some people would say:" There is nothing even more horrible than death, other things are just worthless to fear." But there are always some people that don't fear the power and even further, they could fight for their faith even the cost is death. Those people are in the book which I am about to talk about- "A Tale of Two Cities," written by a man with an incredible amount of energy - Charles Dickens in 1859, under the background of the French Revolution. The two cities in the title of the book precisely are Paris and London.

It is not late to say hello right? Hello everyone, today I would like to introduce you guys to a book which I read during the holiday, actually, everyone has read it during the holiday so my opinion and information might not sound great to you guy because they are just personal. Anyway, if I said something wrong, I am sorry.

Let's get back on track, shall we? The reason I chose this book is that Mrs. Rao used her authority to force me to read it. But when I am actually reading it, I found out that this is the book that really worth reading. The writer Charles Dickens uses his Unique humor writing technique to completed a sad and profound love story in the context of the French Revolution.

It was a dark and cold night in 1775, Dr. Alexandre Manette was wandering around on the street and suddenly, he was forced by two aristocrats to cure someone in their house. But unfortunately

Dr. Alexandre Manette saw a massacre in these aristocrats house so these aristocrats want to bribe him for not saying the secrete out.  So Dr. Alexandre Manette didn’t tell anyone the secret and----- the End.

Absolutely not! Dr. Alexandre Manette is a guy with full righteousness. He is not going to remain silent, he is going to tell them off! So he did it. He wrote a letter, he signed his name, he put the letter into the letterbox and he got arrested. He has been sent to the jail of Bastille and vanished since that.

After Dr. Alexandre Manette vanished, his wife and his daughter Lucie Manette were very sad. His wife died two years later after Dr. Alexandre Manette vanished but before she died, she entrusted her daughter to a bank so Lucie Manette was taken to London.

18 years later,  Dr. Alexandre Manette was finally freed. But he has already taken too much mental damage that makes him forgotten so many things. But lucky he was rescued by one of his servants and after Lucie noticed his father was freed, she came to Paris and took Dr. Alexandre Manette to England. One the way, he met Charles Darnay. They soon fall in love and wanted to get married.

Just like all the other love stories, there will always be distractions. Charles Darnay is the son of the aristocrats that sacked Dr. Alexandre Manette. Holy Colombulus! What kind of situation is that?! But Charles Darney hates what his family had done and he refused to take the Inheritance, refused to use his family first name, and moved to London as a French teacher.

At London, Charles Darnay met a guy called Sydney Carton because of litigation, he was the lawyer. Now here is the key point of the whole story. Charles Darnay and Sydney Carton were so so so so similar that you won’t even tell the difference when you are standing far from them. They soon become friends and usually visit Dr. Alexandre Manette together and they both love Lucie because of her beauty. Unfortunately, Lucie only loves Charles Darnay so Sydney Carton was kind of like a B-plan.

Lucie and Charles Darnay soon got married but another incident happened. This is one of the most important, most influential incidents in human history.

    It is 1789

The French Revolution has begun. All the aristocrats are going to be hanged, including Charles Darnay. But his friend Sydney Carton chose to sacrifice for his love - Lucie, by using the similarity between him and Charles Darnay. He saved his love’s love by sacrificing himself. This is the concentration of all the emotions in this book. Charles Dickens used the relationship and stories seriously assailed the corruption of the aristocrats, the royals and how they dominate, take advantage of civilians. This is not a normal love story. He used his pens as weapons, finished a story with sharp metaphor, which based on the French Revolution.

I would strongly recommend this book to all of you guys because this is the book which actually makes you think deeply and meaningful.

Thank you, my speech is now finished.
