关于贫穷

该告诉我们的孩子，并非世界上所有的孩子都能过丰衣足食的生活。这个世界，有很多人正在等着被帮助，有很多人必须通过自己的努力才能过上较好的生活。

We should tell our children that not all children in the world can live a life of adequate food and clothing. In this world, there are many people waiting to be helped, and many people have to live a better life through their own efforts.

这些人当中，有因为贫穷而沉沦的。穷人在主流社会和环境中会遭受别人的白眼甚至被欺负，他们不愿走出自己的舒适区，不愿意调整自尊心，放任自己的“玻璃心“，久而久之，那些人就无法摆脱原属阶层了。

Some of these people have sunk because of poverty. The poor will be looked down upon or even bullied by others in the mainstream society and environment. They are unwilling to go out of their comfort zone, unwilling to adjust their self-esteem  and indulge their "glass heart". Over time, those people will not be able to get rid of their original class.

当然也有人因为贫穷而奋进。通常这些人都比较有信仰，不失向上的动力。比如杜月笙最早是靠给别人修脚、卖水果为生的，但是仍然一心要摆脱阶层，进入上流社会，最后真的成功了。

Of course, there are also people who forge ahead because of poverty. Usually these people have more faith and do not lose the motivation to make progress. For example, Du Yuesheng first made a living by pedicure and selling fruit, but he still wanted to get rid of the class and enter the high society, and finally he really succeeded.

再比如，很多犹太人出生时极其贫困，被人歧视，但是最后都因为不变的信念，奋发进取，取得成功。甚至有很多犹太人会认为，年轻时不妨穷一点，以便养成一辈子努力的习惯。

For example, many Jews are born in extreme poverty and are discriminated against, but in the end, because of their constant beliefs, they strive to forge ahead and succeed. Many Jews even think that they might as well be a little poorer when they are young in order to form the habit of working hard all their lives.

还记得去年高考，18岁的河北女生王心仪以707的高分被北大中文系录取，她的逆袭动力就是贫穷，贫穷可能动摇很多信念，却让她更加执着地相信知识的力量，给了她永不低头的气量。

I still remember that in the college entrance examination last year, Wang Xinyi, an 18-year-old girl from Hebei, was admitted to the Chinese Department of Peking University with a high score of 707. 贫穷虽然并不值得感谢，它带来的不止痛苦、挣扎与迷茫，还有眼界的狭隘、卑微的心理，但是当你真的不幸和贫穷相伴，那就承认自己的贫穷，把各种挫折和匮乏作为动力，因为只有这样才能真正“富”起来。

Although poverty is not worth thanking, it brings not only pain, struggle and confusion, but also narrow and humble mentality, but when you are really unfortunate and poor, admit your poverty and use various setbacks and deficiencies as motivation, because only in this way can you be truly "rich".

贫穷本身没有意义，对贫穷的思考才有意义，贫穷也许会阻碍人生画卷的展开，但唯有不自弃才能活出生命的精彩。

Poverty itself is meaningless, thinking about poverty is meaningful, poverty may hinder the development of the picture of life, but only by not giving up can we live a wonderful life.
