    Guideline 3.1.1 - Business - Payments - In-App Purchase

    We noticed that your app or its metadata enables the purchase of content, services, or functionality in the app by means other than the in-app purchase API, which is not appropriate for the App Store.

    Specifically, your app contains WeChat Pay.

    Next Steps

    While the payment system that you have included may conduct the transaction outside of the app, if the purchasable content, functionality, or services are intended to be used in the app, they must be purchased using in-app purchase, within the app - unless it is of the type referenced in guideline 3.1.3 of the App Store Review Guidelines.

    In-App Purchase

    It may be appropriate to revise your app to use the in-app purchase API to provide content purchasing functionality.

    In-app purchase provides several benefits, including:

    • The flexibility to support a variety of business models.
    • Impacting your app ranking by consolidating your sales to one app rather than distributing them across multiple apps.
    • An effective marketing vehicle to drive additional sales of new content.

    Guideline 4.2.3 - Design - Minimum Functionality

    We were required to install the WeChat app before we could log in via WeChat. Users should be able to log in with WeChat and access their accounts without having to install any additional apps.

    Next Steps

    If you would like to offer authentication through WeChat, please use a mechanism that allows users to log in with WeChat from within your app without first having to install an additional app.

    We recommend implementing the Safari View Controller API to display web content within your app. The Safari View Controller allows the display of a URL and inspection of the certificate from an embedded browser in an app so that customers can verify the webpage URL and SSL certificate to confirm they are entering their sign in credentials into a legitimate page.

    Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage

    We noticed that your app requests the user’s consent to access their location but does not clarify the use of the location in the applicable purpose string.

    Next Steps

    Please revise the relevant purpose string in your app’s Info.plist file to specify why the app is requesting access to the user's location. You can modify your app's Info.plist file using the property list editor in Xcode.

    To help users understand why your app is requesting access to their personal data, all permission request alerts in your app should specify how your app will use the requested feature.

    We noticed that your screenshots do not sufficiently reflect your app in use.

    Specifically, your 6.5-inch iPhone screenshots do not display the app in the correct device frame.

    To resolve this issue, please revise your screenshots to ensure that they accurately reflect the app in use on the supported devices. For example, a gaming app should feature screenshots that capture actual gameplay from within the app. Marketing or promotional materials that do not reflect the UI of the app are not appropriate for screenshots.

    For iPhone, screenshots for 6.5-inch iPhone Xs Max and 5.5-inch devices (iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus) are required. These screenshots will scale down for smaller device sizes.

    For iPad, screenshots for 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation) and 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd generation) are required. These screenshots will scale down for smaller device sizes.

    App Store screenshots should accurately communicate your app’s value and functionality. Use text and overlay images to highlight your app’s user experience, not obscure it. Make sure app UI and product images match the corresponding device type in App Store Connect. This helps users understand your app and makes for a positive App Store experience.

    Guideline 5.1.2 - Legal - Privacy - Data Use and Sharing

    Your app enables the display of nearby users' locations on a map, but does not have the required privacy precautions in place.

    It is necessary that you put all of the following precautions in place:

    • Your app's rating must reflect a "Frequent/Intense" setting for Mature/Suggestive Themes in App Store Connect
    • Include a privacy policy URL in the App Details page on App Store Connect and ensure that the URL you provide directs users to your privacy policy
    • Ensure that users have a mechanism to block other users
    • Request users' permissions to have their location displayed on a map; users must have the option to decline this request
    • Require users to manually check-in each time they wish to have their location displayed on a map; there should be no option to enable automatic check-ins

      For the 5.2.1 guidelines, maybe we have some misunderstandings.
      In the app, the 110, 120, 119 questions for quick help, our platform will never call 110, 119, 120, we just help the user quickly call out the 110, 120, 119 phone dialog.

      In our country, everyone can call 110, 120, 119 directly for help. So in the app, we help users to dial these numbers more quickly, so that they can get help faster.

      Guideline 5.2.1 - Legal - Intellectual Property

      The seller and company names associated with your app do not reflect the name “Chinese government” in the app or its metadata, as required by Guideline 5.2.1 of the App Store Review Guidelines.

      Next Steps

      Your app must be published under a seller name and company name that reflects the Chinese government name. If you have developed this app on behalf of a client, please advise your client to add you to the development team of their Apple Developer account. If your client does not yet have an Apple Developer account, they can enroll in the Apple Developer Programthrough the Apple Developer website.

      To request an update to the company name or entity type associated with this Apple Developer Program account, the Team Agent will need to edit the account information. On the Apple Developer website, go to Account, then select Membership. On the Membership page, click "Need to edit this information?" to submit your requested changes.

      Note that submitting documentation showing permission to publish this app on behalf of the content owner or institution will not resolve this issue. This app must be submitted under the content owner’s own Apple Developer account.

      To request a fee waiver for nonprofit organizations, accredited educational institutions, or U.S.-based government entities, follow the steps outlined on the Apple Developer Program Membership Fee Waiverspage.
