Critics have been blaming China's one-child policy for a long time and finally it was replaced by updated two-child policy. Today I would like to talk about how the young family perceive about this new policy.
First of all, quite a lot mid-age parents make efforts to catch this ride for a second child. In conventional Chinese family, it was normal to have four or five siblings. Thus, this generation will find it unsafe or lonely to have only one child. This new policy will satisfy them even though it is difficult to bear another baby at that age.
However, for most young family, they are too stressful to have second child because of the rising life expenditure. It is not competitive to the old times. To bring up one children can cost a fortune, from kindergarten to college. What's more, they find it hard to balance work and life in nowadays society. Even one baby can keep the whole family busy all the time. Let alone two children or more. We require parents to spend more time with their children so many young parents agree that children deprive them of freedom.
All in all, whether to have two children is a private issue for any family. Society should not place burden on individuals. Whenever all the supportive infrastructures are ready and the life expenditure comes down, more families will think about having their second child.
