Language study shouldn't be stop

This morning, my leader mentioned that our translation of Wiki was unsatisfactory, and colleagues from operation department complained it was too Chinese. My leader suggested that the wiki should be translated by Operation colleagues.

Last time wiki's translation was led by me and it was done by several my colleagues. I was responsible for the translation quality. Hearing Yin Peiyuan's words, I suddenly realize that my English was still far away from authentic English.

Here are several reasons accounting for this. First of all, I have never gone aboard and never had immersed myself in the authentic language learning environment. Secondly, I

mainly practiced translation materials with obvious Chinese characteristics. It was unavoidable that Chinese topics would display great Chinese flavor in terms of translation.

Recently, I continued my online teaching with Nancy. Teacher must know more than students and this has forced me to acquire more knowledge and read more English news.

I have recited a lot of words,expressions as well as passages in my high school, which laid solid foundation to my English study later in my life. After that, it seemed that I seldom had chance to intensively accumulate English like that. Even today in my English conversation，I tend to use these old expressions learnt in my high school. I have made up my mind several times to write English dairy everyday, but I always forget to do that.

Writing is a good way to stay acute to language. It gives me time to think, to organize my thoughts and then put them into shape. This Friday night in English corner, I did have a lot of ideas but I was a little dumb to speak them out. The translator I listened to was very talkative,  which should attribute to his continuous polish of his language via translation.

For me, I also did some English translation and reading, but not in a systematic way. I mainly read fragment news and articles and I have never finished a whole English novel. What a great pity!  So from today on, I need to do more reading digest and write more in English.

I like to share my thoughts with online friends, who may help to push me forward. I clearly know that I still have a long way to go in terms of language study and I hope I could have some follwers and make progress together.
