what a busy day!
yesterday i shared some post-reading thoughts, my first time to try to write something in English, on Six Kinds of Unforgettable Memories in My Life that is written by Shen Fu of the Qing Dynasty and is one of the most classical Chinese literary books.
just as its name implies, this book is made up of six independent parts, among which the first part about the writer's love and marriage stories is the most interesting and impressive one without any doubts and is highly rated by so many famous people.
especially their chatting about the great poets and poetry, it made me launch.
"which do you prefer, Li Bai or Du Fu" Shen said.
"Li Bai." Yun said.
"also i like Bai Juyi." Yun looked at his husband with a smile and continued.
"sweet honey, how important the 'Bai' is for you!" (你与白有缘)Shen felt excited and it seemed that he found a big secret.
"why?"
"because my courtesy name is 'Sanbai'."(沈复,字三白)
"since there are so many 'Bai's, maybe i will not know a single word."(白话连篇)
then both of them launched.
do you get the humor?
if not, it is just not my mistake, but the inherent defects of English.
