If you never searched for truth

come with us

and you will become a seeker．

If you were never a musician

come with us

and you will find your voice．

You may posses immense wealth

come with us

and you will become love's beggar

You may think yourself a master

come with us

and love will turn you into aslave．

If you’ve lost your spirit，

come with us

take off your silk coverings，

put on our rough cloak

and we will bring you back tolife．

如果你一直探求不到真理

跟我们来

你就会成为一位探寻者

如果你对音律一窍不通

跟我们来

你就会找到属于自己的音符

你可能有无边的财富

跟我们来

你就会发现自己变成爱的乞徒

你可能把自己想象成为一位大师

跟我们来

然后爱就会把你役奴

如果你已经丢失了自己的魂灵

跟我们来

我们会让你重新找回生命的意义

只要你脱掉层层的衣物

换上我们粗糙的袍服

In our gathering one candle lightshundreds，

we will light your path and giveyou courage

so you will open like a flower

and join in our joyous laughter．

Plant the seed of truth and watchit grow

when it spreads its branches

come with us and sit under theblossoms．

Your eyes will open to the secretof Truth．

The Friend who cannot be seen isthe most

subtle and precious．

The work that cannot be seen isthe most

refined．

The cleverest of a11 is the onewho does not

deceive himself

for he has deceived deceit.

那不能见识的朋友

最为精妙与珍贵

那见识不到的作品

也最具妙意

最睿智的人，不会自欺

因为他已经欺骗了欺骗本身

My soul is a mirror that revealssecrets．

I may not speak about them but

cannot deny knowing．

I run away from body and Soul

where I belong，I swear, I do not know．

Seeker, if you want to know thesecret,

first you must die to your self．

You may see me but do not think Iam here

I have vanished into my Beloved

graced by the essence of love．

My arched back is the bow and mywords，

the unbending arrows aimed atTruth．

My tears are testimony of mydevotion to Shams

and from those tears white lilieswill grow

that will speak the Truth．

Seek the wisdom

that will untie your knot

seek the path

that demands your whole being

Leave that which is not，but appears

to be

seek that which is，but is

not apparent．

寻找智慧

离开那出现了，却又不是的

存在

寻找那“本是”的所指，而不是

那些表面的浮光

I will give up anything to winyour love

but if you say no，

I will accept and walk awayfilled with

the sweetness of your denial．

I have come secretly to seizeyour flame for my soul

I have come to steal from the King'streasure

but if I do not succeed，

I will accept and walk awayknowing

where the gold is hidden．

Play your tricks，pinch my hat if you like

but I will walk away with yourgolden belt!

为了赢得你的爱，我会将任何事都弃诸一旁

Tempted for so long to have avision of you

I myself have turned into avision．

You have seized the fortress ofmy heart，

your love arrows can split even amountain，

how can my poor heart ever escapethem?

I don’t even dare to mention yourname

and call you “My Moon”

jealous that others may discoveryou．

This poem is for the time whenyou held

the cup before me saying,

“Drink, drink now because if youdon’t，

pass the wine to someone else.”

还记得写这首诗的时候，我正要说话

你就将酒杯举到我的面前

“喝吧，现在就喝下去

如果你不能，和别人一样将酒干掉。”

You are searching the world fortreasure

but the real treasure is yourself．

If you are tempted by bread

you will find only bread．

What you seek for

you become．

你正为了珍宝而探寻整个世界

但是真正的珍宝就是你自己

如果你受到了面包的诱惑

你找到的只有面包

你想寻找什么

你就成为什么

I will never leave this house oflight，I will never

leave this blessed town

for here I have found my 1ove andhere I wi11 stay

for the rest of my life．

If this world turns into a sea oftrouble

I will brave the waves and steermy mind’s ship

to the safe shore of love．

If you are a seeker looking forprofit，go on

and may God be with you，

but I am not willing to exchangemy truth，

I have found the heart and willnever leave

this house of light．

Get up and whirl around theperfect Master,

why are you clinging to thisearth,

like a wet flower ?

The blessing is in the action．

I wonder

from these thousands of “me’s”,

which one am I ?

Listen to my cry，do not drown my voice

Don’t lay broken glass on my path

I will crush it into dust．

I am nothing，just a mirror in the palm of yourhand，

reflecting your kindness，your sadness，your anger．

If you were a blade of grass or atiny flower

I would pitch my tent in yourshadow．

Only your presence revives my witheredheart.

You are the candle that 1ightsthe whole world

and I am an empty vessel for yourlight．

我到底是何？

请听我的呼叫，不要沉溺我的声音

不要把打碎的玻璃铺到我的道上

你是光耀世界的明烛

Like a thief

reason sneaked in and sat amongstthe lovers

eager to give them advice．

They were unwilling to listen，so reason kissed their feet

and went on its way

像一个小偷

真理渐渐从晦暗中显明，热切地

给予爱人们忠告

但他们不愿意去倾听，所以真理轻轻的吻了吻他们的脚

然后又独自上路

When you see the face of anger

1ook behind it

and you will see the face ofpride.

Bring anger and pride

under your feet，turn them into a ladder

and climb higher.

There is no peace until you become

their master．

Let go of anger，it may taste sweet

but it kills.

Don’t become its victim

you need humility to climb tofreedom.

当你看到一个愤怒的脸

在那张脸的另一面

是一张骄傲的脸

把愤怒和骄傲

放到你的足下，放到台阶的底端

然后再一步步的向上爬

人们的导师啊

直到你出现这里才有了宁静

放纵自己的怒火吧，它看起来似乎甜蜜

但是它带来的是杀戮

In You I hide escaping from myruin

Never lose hope

Beloved pushes you away,

if He shuts the door on you，don’t go，

be patient and wait

It is your patience that will

draw Him back．

If He blocks all your roads，

be Sure

He will show you a secret way

unknown to others．

永远不要放弃希望

When at first

love captured my heart

my cries kept the neighboursawake all night

Now that my love has grown deeper

my cries have calmed down．

When fire catches，smoke

disappears．

Can’t you see that your soul islike that of Moses

do not remain a simple shepherd，

leave the flock behind and walkbarefoot

Your cane can not support you onthis path，

you can only lean on Truth．

Your earthly lover

can be very charming andcoquettish

but never very faithful.

The true lover is the one who onyour final day

opens a thousand doors．

What a loss，what a loss，

to be sober in the midst ofdrunks

Keep on pouring the wine of loveuntil

all reason dissolves．

Have you ever seen a thirsty manrefuse water?

Fall madly in love, my friend, forreason

is icy cold in the circle oflovers.

Lost in the fog of impressions

reason cannot see the signs ofthe invisible one.

Finding faults is for those withtired minds

多遗憾啊，多遗憾啊！

在美酒之中忽然惊醒

继续倾注着爱的醇酒，直到

每一个理由都被推翻

你见过一个口渴的人拒绝清水么？

在爱中迷狂，我的朋友

那些理由在爱人的周围围成冷冰的一圈

在感官的迷雾中迷失

推理不能看到无形的主的标记

找到的错误，就是我们疲惫的思想

If you are enslaved by this worldremember Joseph,

成熟的尔撒也已至

胜利的旗帜一展展飘扬

猎猎在春天的广场

你的工作是给生命带来死亡

升起吧，这一天已经来到

My imprisoned heart，open your cage，

the one you’ve lost has come．

now you have come back full ofremorse．

boundless Grace has come.

I said what about my eyes?

“Keep them on the road.”

I said what about my passion?

“Keep it burning．”

I said what about my heart?

“Tell me what you hold insideit?”

I said pain and sorrow．

He said：

“stay with it．”
