I've spent 17 years seeking answer to one question

What kind of teacher I want to be and can be

Responsible or irresponsible

Hard-working or easy-working

With greatest efforts or with least efforts

To gain with pain or to gain without pain

Optimistic or pessimistic

Encouraging or discouraging

To work for name and fame

To work for living and bread

To work for the so-called life value

or to work for fun and pleasure

This is not an either-or question

It's better to coordinate and keep the balance

I'm not such a great figure like Grandpa Yuan

Who can solve the biggest problem

but I understand what it means by

"一粥一饭，袁来不易"

What is within my reach

is to sow a seed in your heart and in my mind

I believe the seed will burst into bloom one day

If you take in enough water and sunshine

No matter how long it takes

I'm here waiting for your good news
