English Collocations in Use Adva

今天学的搭配都比较正式，口语中用到的机会较少。分享几个我觉得有意思的。

1. fire the imagination
   fire 的意思是 to make someone feel interested in something and excited about it, 熟词生义。You can fire someone’s imagination or enthusiasm.

2. spectacularly successful= extremely successful
   表示程度，还可以有highly successful, 但不如spectacularly successful 的程度深。

3. an unmitigated disaster/failure
   unmitigated意思是complete, often describing something bad or unsuccessful that has no good or positive points

4. a dismal failure
   dismal 意思是bad and unsuccessful
