Yesterday, I talked about abortion and divorce with Aileen ,my filipino English teacher.
I was told that abortion and divorce is illegal in Philippines. I was astonished.
Because it is legal in China. If a girl just meet a bad guy but she doesn't realize until get married with him. What should she do? If you ask me, I think that forbidden divorce is unreasonable. What's marriage free? When you think about it, it means that we can get married free with whom I want to live with in the rest life and also can divorce with someone we don't like . When a teenager girl just get pregnant， what should she do？ It is a real and serious problem we have to face. There is no reason to forbidden abortion and divorce. But it's really illegal in Philippines. So we should respect the filipino culture even if we think it is unreasonable, because it's their culture. What I'm trying to say is different countries have different cultures , it is ok . We should understand and respect each other.
One thing we have to remember is that what you don't want to do to yourself ,don't do to others.
Learning new words and expression
1. I never expected that。。。
a. I never expected that I could ask Lily out for dinner, because she is always busy and cold.
b. I never expected that I had the courage to experience sky diving.
2. If you ask me ,I think that ... means In my opinion.
a. If you ask me ,I think that the teachers in CBOA are humorous , patient, pretty.
b. If you ask me, I think that filipinos are very diligent and they want to change their destiny.
3. ask ... out means invite
4. call off means cancle
a. Let me check if the flight had been called off.
b. I was told that the meeting after lunch was called off by our boss.
