When I start to write this article I have nothing in my mind what to write for this week. But soon I realize today is the last day of year 2018. So I will summarize the year and plan for next year.
For year 2018, I am still doing my job as a sales manager for international market. Not satisfied with myself in terms of learning, socializing and earning.
Let's talk about job first, as a sales manager, I hardly see any management in myself. What I am doing is like a sales representative but with a little more meaningless work regarding B2B platforms and exhibition. And not much improvement in sales. I bought online courses for sales and learned but haven't changed me too much in terms of result.
Secondly, stock investment. The Shanghai composite index dropped 25% in 2018. The value of my stock portfolio dropped 13% in the same period of time which seems to broadcast that I beat the market. While there is nothing to celebrate. Because I hardly sold and continuously put in my extra money to lower the average cost. Only in the way did I manage to make the number look good. But this year is very good to me for the bad market trained me on the understanding of it and enables me to remain peaceful when the market is a steep decline.
Thirdly, in socializing I haven't known more valuable friends. And still haven't got a girlfriend which my parents pushed a lot on.
One thing I am excited at is that I read books more than any single year in the past. I think there are about ten books. Not many but I love reading now. It feels good as I forced myself to read in the past.
For 2019, I intent to
read at least 30 books;
keep improving my English;
learn more in sales;
find a girlfriend.
