A couple of days ago I went to a team badminton competition. This competition wasn't just a normal tournament. It was a team event. We won the tournament, but we only won because we worked together and supported each other.
Teamwork, "The combined action of a group, especially when effective and efficient."
Team Player, "A person who plays or works well as a member of a team."
Team Action, "The action of collaboration to achieve a common goal between team players."
Teamwork, Team Player, Team Action!!
These are the online definitions of the three main points of a team. What all of these definitions have in common is that they all include the act of people collaborating and helping each other in all ways. After reviewing these definitions I have used teamwork and come up with an overall definition with my brother.
Teamwork. "The combined action of many different people working together collaboratively to reach a common goal more efficiently and smoothly."
This is the result we came up with. We think that teamwork is not only finding the perfect people to win something but to find people who will help each other in need, people who are dedicated to the goal and to each other and most importantly, people who will stick together till the end!

If you are not particularly good at being a team member and you feel like you are left out, maybe you need to improve yourself.
How to Be a Great Team Player!
1. When another team player is giving ideas or the team leader is announcing something, you must be silent and respect your team members. If you do respect them, then they will respect you! This also applies to show respect to other teams.
2. Be dedicated to your work and what you and your team is doing. If you aren't dedicated then you will show to your team members that you don't care and ultimately, be disrespected by them.
3. Have FUN! Sometimes your team is can be serious and work hard. You need to follow the rhythm and do what they are doing. When your team is relaxing or having a good time, you can join in and release yourself. If a team is too tense all the time then they will have a rough road to achieving their goal.

Being a team member isn't easy. You either have to adapt to the team or lead the team and make an environment that your team can adapt to. Whatever job you take on, remember that honesty is the best policy and to be the best you can be! Lastly, completing tasks doesn't only take yourself, only a team can achieve a goal together. Make sure you be an adept team player and show compassion, dedication and teamwork!
