1. The Transaction
读了好几遍，也没太能理解transaction的意思，查字典说是the process of doing business，放在这里意思也不相符。中文译本的题目写的是“交往”，目前译本还没到手，等到手了看一下整篇内容吧。我自己理解的，应该是指作者写作的这个过程。
开头以对比的形式，展示了作者本人和一位医生对"写作"这件事各种相悖的观点。告诉大家，每个作者都是独特的，能帮助你表达想法的方式，对你来说就是“正确”的方式。
这里罗列一下作者本人的观点。
1. Writing wasn't easy and wasn't fun. It was hard and lonely, and the words never just flowed.(关于写作是否有趣。)
2. Rewriting is the essence of writing.（关于写作是否需要修改。）
3. Professional writer must establish a daily schedule and stick to it.Writing is a craft, not an art.（关于是否需要制定写作计划）
4. If your job is to write every day, you learn to do it like any other job.（关于心情不好是否会影响写作。）
5. Professional writers are solitary drudges who seldom see other writers. （关于是否需要结交其他作者。）
6. Not if I can help it. (关于是否会用象征手法。)
非小说类的写作，是将部分自己映射在纸上的过程。所以阅读，也是想洞悉文字背后的作者本人的过程。好的非小说类写作中最关键的是两点—“人性和温暖（humanity and warmth）”，本书将深入研究这两点。
好的写作会让人忍不住一段接着一段读下去，而只有通过“清晰和有力量（clarity and strength）”的语言才能做到这一点。

Bohemian，一般译为波西米亚，原意指豪放的吉卜赛人和颓废派的文化人。然而在今年的时装界甚至整个时尚界中，波西米亚风格代表着一种前所未有的浪漫化，民俗化，自由化。
3. Coming home from an arduous(艰苦的) day at the hospital, he would go straight to his yellow pad and write his tensions way.

gusto= enthusiasm and energy in doing sth （做某事的）热情，兴致，经历
Hers was a minor part, but she played it with gusto. 她演的是个小角色，但是演得很投入。
之前口语课3-1-3也学到过这个 “and you ate them with such gusto...” 复习一下！
7. ...others can't write the second paragraph until they have fiddled endlessly with the first.
fiddle with sth 不断摆弄，不停做小修改。跟昨天那个fuss意思相似。

10. gimmick 花招，把戏，噱头
World Car-Free Day is a one-day gimmick and does not make people give up their cars for the rest of the year. 世界无车日也就是那么一天的噱头，并不能使人们在其他时间放弃开车。
