Level I—Internal Listening 观自我
在第一层的倾听里, 我们的倾听的主要目的是或许信息,对方说了什么,是什么情绪,传递了什么价值,这些都不重要,重要的是,这些对于我来说意味着什么?
这类对话的典型场景发生在去一个陌生的城市旅游,你在机场与地勤人员的对话。
At Level I, our awareness is on ourselves.
We listen to the words of the other person, but our attention is on what it means to us personally. At Level I, the spotlight is on “me”: my thoughts, my judgments, my feelings, my conclusions about myself and others.
At Level I, there is only one question: What does this mean to me?
在会议中,只关心自己的Judgement 和 opinions,只记得driving own agenda,也属于Level 1倾听。
Level II—Focused Listening 听对方
这第二层的倾听里,我们对对方有着精准的聚焦。
Your awareness is totally on your clients. You listen for their words, their expressions, their emotions, everything they bring. You notice what they say, how they say it. You notice what they don’t say. You see their smiles or hear the tears in their voices. You listen for what they value. You listen for their vision, for the unique way they look at the world.
我们循着对方的话语,积极活跃地倾听。
Level III—Global Listening 听全局
第三层的倾听更强调其他感知以及直觉的重要。
Level III includes everything you can observe with your senses.
Through your intuition, you receive information that is not directly observable.
Level III awareness is sometimes described as environmental listening. You notice the temperature, the energy level, the lightness or darkness, both literally and figuratively.
