Benebaby国际学院新校区位于深圳福田区兰江山地，占地2000平方，是一间注重综合素质教育的幼儿园机构。VMDPE圆道设计接受了该项目的委托，在项目中尝试再次探讨空间与艺术与儿童探索的关系。
The new campus of the BeneBaby International Academy is located over the Lanjiang Hills of the Fujian District in Shenzhen, China. Covering an area of 2,000sqm, it is a kindergarten institution that aims to provide comprehensive quality education. VMDPE Design was commissioned to develop the project, probing the relationship between art, space and children’s natural curiosity for exploration.
以儿童为本的功能细节
Children-Oriented Functionality
Benebaby国际学院除了有一般的课室，还设有戏剧室、美术音乐教室，以及丰富的室内和户外活动区等功能，旨在培养孩子的全球视野，培养终身学习者。
In addition to general classrooms, the BeneBaby International Academy houses a drama classroom, an art and music classroom as well as several spaces for indoor and outdoor activities, all of which aim to cultivate an international vision in favor of the children’s development, making them life-long learners.
课室设计充分考虑了孩子们的尺度，配备可供孩子自行操作各类设施。如挂衣架、书包柜及作业柜，大面积的白板墙。
Classroom design takes into consideration the children’s differing needs to create a child size environment, providing the facilities with equipment for children to operate by themselves such as clothes hangers, schoolbag cabinets, homework cabinets and large whiteboard walls.
专门定制的灯具，上下均可发光，柔和而充足的光线漫反射于空间各个角落，同时它还是一个天花吊杆，老师还可以利用定制灯具来进行教室上空的教学环境创作。洗手台的特殊设计可以保证孩子在洗手时不会将水溅到衣服和地上，从细节上尊重孩子一切的成长特性。
Specially customized lamps are able to emit light upward and downward, diffusing soft illumination in all corners of the space. The lamps double as ceiling hangers that can be used by teachers to create educational atmospheres in the classrooms. The particular design of the hand-washing station ensures that children don’t splash water on their clothes or over the floor. Altogether, these functional details respect and improve the growth and natural development of children.
丰富的活动空间
Flexible Spaces for Multiple Activities
自由的活动区域对于孩子们来说永远是欢乐的天堂。在设计中的每一层都占据了较大的面积比例，在寸金寸土的城市背景下这是少有的幼儿教育空间布局方案。
Free activity areas are a paradise for children. Each floor in the project presents large areas reserved for this purpose, a rare view in children’s educational spaces in big cities.
室内有奇妙的”混沌环形空间”，以及充满趣味的麦田圈式室内活动中心。室外则有色彩强烈的体育运动场地，以及融合了沙、石、草地等自然要素的自然户外活动区域，不同风格的活动场所可以满足不同的课程内容，圆道设计希望透过如此丰富的设计方式为孩子创造不同环境下的多样化学习及生活体验。
Creatively designed activity centers such as the wonderful “disordered ring space” or the fun-filled “wheat crop circles” can be found on the interiors. Furthermore, the outdoors present colorful sport venues and other activity areas that combine natural elements such as sand, stone and grass. The variety of activity venues provides different solutions used to develop class content. VMDPE Design hopes that, with the help of a resourceful design approach, children are able to create different learning and life experiences in multiple environments.

Understanding Children’s Natural Curiosity for Exploration
探索，是孩子了解世界的一种方式，而探索分两种方式，行为上的和思维上的。
Exploration provides a way for children to understand the world. It can be either behavioral or cognitive.
柏拉图认为，除了我们所能感觉到的客观现实世界外，还存在一个理念世界（world of ideas），而孩子的思维世界就是柏拉图式的世界，是纯粹的精神世界，是混沌的，充满冒险精神的，充满哲学式思考的。
Plato believed that in addition to the real and objective world we perceive, there is also a world of ideas. Children’s thoughts exist as a Platonic world; pure and spiritual, disordered, with an adventurous spirit full of philosophical thinking.

无序却和谐的设计语言
A Disorganized Yet Harmonious Design Language
受到这种思想的启发，VMDPE圆道设计试图在这个项目中植入一种新的视觉手法，即不做具象的内容，做充满启发性的“不确定性”的内容。只通过最基本的形状，颜色引起孩子们的想象，为孩子营造奇妙的感知体验。正如蒙德里安对新造型主义的解释：“这种新艺术将会‘发现自我’”，在形状和颜色的抽象化里，即在直线和直观的原始色里。”
Inspired by this line of thought, VMDPE Design embraces new visual techniques that avoid concrete content and focus on “undetermined” content. Only the most basic shapes and colors can stimulate the children’s imagination, creating a wonderful perceptual experience for them. As Mondrian once explained in his theory of Neoplasticism: “this new art will discover itself, in the abstraction of shapes and colors, in straight lines and intuitive primary colors”.
行走在空间中，伴随一种微妙的随机性，从漂浮在空中的圆球，到转角处的洞口，直线和弧线交错产生的空间感，构建着让人一眼看不透的空间关系，这些奇妙的感受让置身在其中的儿童产生联想和思考，诠释空间设计对于早期教育的意义——解放思维。
Upon walking into the space, we are welcomed by a subtle feeling of randomness, perhaps caused by the sphere floating in the air, or the graceful cave on the corner. Interlaced straight and curved lines construct a spatial relationship almost invisible at plain sight. Then again, such wonderful impressions make children imagine and ponder. This approach to spatial design is of great importance for early childhood education institutions; it simply helps to emancipate the mind.
其次，对长条形的场地进行动线梳理，通过运用强化过道区域形态的手法，视觉上扩大场内公共区域，摆脱流动性强的传统走廊式形态，同时丰富空间层次，形成不同尺度的空间及角落，让空间充满变化而促成更多未知性和趣味性，让孩子们可以选择不同的位置进行游戏及社交活动，带着好奇一点点展开探索。
Regarding the design approach used to maximize the efficiency of the inherently long-layout of the project, several techniques were applied to enrich the main aisle, visually expanding public areas to completely avoid traditional corridor-like forms and provide dynamic circulation paths. The approach further develops spatial hierarchy within areas and corners of different scales, forming a versatile atmosphere that encourages exploration through a plethora of intriguing elements. Here, children can choose different locations to play and enjoy social activities, or explore even further by simply fomenting their natural curiosity.
每个孩子的内心，都存在一个宇宙。Benebaby国际学院项目的目标，是为孩子构建一个与国际教学标准相接轨的创新型学校，更是创造一个专业而具有创造力的世界，一个能够接壤孩子内心的世界。
There is a universe in every child’s heart. The purpose of the BeneBaby International Academy is to build an innovative school for children, in line with international education standards. More than that, it hopes to present a responsible and creative world, capable of nourishing the hearts of children.
