Joe is an ordinary man weaing glasses with a heavy black frames. Anyone meeting Joe for the first time would not guess that within the chest he has a passion for one thing---jazz music.
He has fallen for jazz since twelve years old when his father took him to see a concert. With jazz, he could be on top of the world. But sometimes listening to some playing music is like being run over by a truck. Students from Joe's class are some of them.
While Joe is trying his best to make his students play some kind of harmonious music, vice president of the school knocked at the door. He told Joe good news that he got the full-time job with job security, health insurance and pension.
It seemed that Joe was not happy about this result. In his mind, this job is supposed to be temporary not permanent.
When the class let out, Joe was still uncertain. After all, he has been scraping by on this part-time job. This full-time job can solve all the problems. In his mind, this job is supposed to keep him float before a nig break.
Maybe he should ask his mother, who runs a laundry shop and is a no-nonsense woman. After he fill her in on the job offer, his mother says he should take it. But Joe was still not sure.
At that time, one of his former students calls him and invites him to try out for a gig.
