    Day 11 go unnoticed

    基础篇: meaning: not be noticed

    Hard work hardly goes unnoticed. 

    进阶篇: 被忽略,未被注意; hardly/rarely + go unnoticed 用双重否定加强效果

    go+ un__ 的表达: go unrecognized, go unreported

    很多食物被浪费  Much food go unconsumed/ wasted. 

    应用篇:

    1)翻译:人们不会对善良视而不见

    Kindness rarely goes unnoticed. 

    2) go+ un__ 的表达的积累:  go unresearched/ unexplored/ uninvestigated

    场景:这些sacred sites 没有被充分研究。

    These sacred sites go unresearched.

    Day 12 Outlive 

    基础篇: meaning: live or last longer than

    The one-child policy had outlived its usefulness.

    进阶篇:outlive: 基本意思:比...活得久, 比...持久 He outlived his wife. 

    outlive 还经常和one's usefulness 搭配使用,表示某人或某物不再有用

    Now you have outlived your usefulness for me. 你现在对我来说已经没什么用了。

    当想表达“no longer useful”, 就可以用到 outlive one's usefulness.例如表示某个政策虽然还存在,但已经没有效力了。

    The one-child policy had outlived its usefulness.  (过去完成时。计划生育政策已经被废除了;存在于废除的过去)

    创业公司,标准的作息形同虚设。

    In startups the conventional/ standard work schedule, i.e. from 9 am to 5 pm, has long since outlived its usefulness. (很多创业公司采用的是996模式,早9点到晚9点,一周上六天班)

    Day 13 last

    基础篇: meaning: to continue existing or happening

    The housing both will not last. 

    进阶篇:表示“持续”,我们会立刻想到“continue”, 很多时候可以用“last”来替换。“last”作为动词可以表示“持续”,它的主语一般是一个事件、情形、问题。比如我们想说“房产的繁荣景象不会持续”,就可以说:

    The housing boom will not last.

    表示 不同的人有不同的观点  Opinions vary from person to person.

    句型提炼: Y (复数) vary from X (单数) to X (单数).

    Answers vary from person to person. 

    Public holidays vary from country to country. 不同国家的公假日不同。

    Trends vary between regions: growth rates continue to rise in America and China, but are leveling off in China and the euro area.

    应用篇:

    1)翻译:不同的人生阶段有不同的优先权。

    Priorities vary from stage to stage. 

    2) 造句:中国菜不同的地方口味不同

    Chinese cuisines vary from region to region. 

    Day 15 emerge

    基础篇:meaning: to appear, or to become recognized 

    例句:As we age, specific health problems emerge. 随着年龄的增长,一些特定的病会出现。

    进阶篇:emerge: 表示显现,露出的意思,和appear 一样,是vi.

    emerge 前的主语经常是 “问题”、“挑战”。

    Problems emerge and some people try to sweep them under the rug. 

    sweep (something) under the rug. To ignore, deny, or conceal from public view or knowledge something that is embarrassing, unappealing, or damaging to one's reputation. 】

    应用篇:
