    Word&Expression

    1. Consider alll the prepositions that are draped onto verbs that don't need any help.

      1. to put something somewhere so that it hangs or lies loosely
      2. to cover or decorate something with a cloth

    eg. The cloth draped onto you head is beautiful and  brings you an effortless glamour.

    2. push this to a lower decibel of public fixation.

       a unit for measuring the loudness of sound: 分贝

    eg. Richard has been raising the decibel level of his complaints about health care costs.

    3. they are all weeds that will smother what you write.

    1. with something else, often in a way that seems unnecessary or unpleasant
       smother something with/in something
      2. to kill someone by putting something over their face to stop them breathing

    sth. interesting: smother somebody with kisses (to kiss someone a lot)

    4. you can bevel the edges...

    cut a bevel on; shape to a bevel   vt.使成斜角;使成斜面

    eg. He love bevelled edge because he thinks it is so beautiful.

    Thoughts

    New varieties sprout overnight, and by noon they are part of American speech.

    新鲜事物可以一夜风靡,很快每个人都会谈论他们。当下的网络语言甚至表情包都是这样的,能够很快流行起来。我想我们之所以学写作,寻找风格,原因之一就是避免出口就是同一化的词语,发的信息全都用表情包代替。

    If what you build is sturdy and serviceable, take satisfaction in its plain strength.

    如果你建造的是稳定持久的东西,从最平凡朴实的地方都可以获得满足感。我的理解是若要写得好文章,就要经受一字一句的斟酌,且从中找到乐趣。做其他事也是同理。这句话是这两章里给我出动最大的一句话,会联想到不仅仅是写作,还有很多很多东西。它所强调的还有沉下心来,好好做事。
