普绪克之梦

如果梦也能够梦，也就超越了那些已从
礼仪中拯救的风景，以及那些
蜷缩在屋檐下的背德哑女，
她们在书籍堆叠的地方
刨取，祈望觅到的不是事件是回应
如果梦也能够梦，不被阴暗密室束缚
而从她要去看落叶的桥上
看去，那棵树可以说有
多么蠢，巨大而没有根基
（黄蜂就是残酷的例子，
尽管其毒刺不是），腐朽
现在蔓延至花园，它缠绕着
杂草和一切搅扰者的床褥；
随后是房屋纷纷倒塌，消失于视野
于是她必须，也有你，必须观察
并非本相只是影相，它将无处
安放，也不会相似，而只会在别处
苟延残喘，在那里一个有翅膀的男孩
从各处遥触她的耳朵
如同傍晚环绕在她腰间
因此每个梦中都藏有另一个，相隔遥远
又可笑而且是他与她四唇相接的异构。

译注：
1. 普绪克(Psyche)源自古希腊语,意为“灵魂”或“精神”，在希腊罗马神话中指灵魂女神。她与小爱神丘比特的浪漫爱情故事是西方艺术久经不衰的题材。
2.背德哑女（mute Illicit girls）illicit意为不合法、不道德等意思，一般用来指私生女。
3. 阴暗地下室（damp crypt），crypt一般特指教堂地下用于安葬逝者的地下室，或密室。
4. 多么蠢（原文standing on its head，系惯用语）稍稍正式地表达，为了告诉别人他们打算做什么是愚蠢的（如果出了差错，他们必须接受责备或承担责任）。

诗人简介：安·劳特巴赫( Ann Lauterbach, 1942-  ) 出生并在纽约长大，1967 年到 1974 年，她一直住在伦敦，在泰晤士和哈德逊出版社担任编辑。回到纽约后，她曾担任 Max Protetch 画廊的总监，撰写艺术评论，并在哥伦比亚大学、布鲁克林学院和爱荷华作家工作坊教授文学硕士课程。她曾获得古根海姆奖学金、英格拉姆·梅里尔基金会及纽约州艺术基金资助。她已出版11部诗集及3部散文集。

Psyche's Dream

If dreams could dream, beyond the canon of landscapes
Already saved from decorum, including mute
Illicit girls cowering under eaves
Where the books are stacked and which they
Pillage, hoping to find not events but response
If dreams could dream, free from the damp crypt
And from the bridge where she went
To watch the spill and the tree
Standing on its head, huge and rootless
(Of which the wasp is a cruel illustration
Although its sting is not), the decay
Now spread into the gardens, their beds
Tethered to weeds and to all other intrusions;
Then the perishing house, lost from view
So she must, and you, look out to see
Not it but an image of it, would be
Nowhere and would not resemble, but would languish
On the other side of place where the winged boy
Touches her ear far from anywhere
But gathered like evening around her waist
So that within each dream is another, remote
And mocking and a version of his mouth on her mouth.
