This book was written by Zweig who was a famous novelist in Austria. It is one of his excellent short stories. The famous writer and his friend, Gorky comments that, it is really an amazing masterpiece.

This book was telling a story about a girl love a famous writer all her life, but the man didn’t know anything. Just like all the love just I love you. The hero, He likes the ease, like bees, like flowers indiscriminate love, rather than make any sacrifice. The hostess did not want to bring a trace of them to him cumbersome, so she decided to hide him everything. But she was always eager to be able to recognize by him. But in the end, the man did not recognize her. This is what a tragedy!

At first, the writer was received a long letter from an unknown woman in his 41 years old birthday. And then the story was begun.

The woman first met the writer was 13 years old. She was a poor, shy and Self-abased. Her father was died and she was lived with her mother. Before she met the man she has some special feeling of him, because she was very curious and admires the writer who has a finest servant and so many books. All of this was interested and out of reach of the girl. One day, they met, and she was fell in love with the handsome, full of knowledge and has dual personality person who was 25 years old. The man was very difference from her image. From then on, all of the girl life was observed everything of the man until her mother was married again in two years later.

However, when she was 18 years old, she came back again just for met the man. Every day, she waited for the man in front of his house after she went off work. Finally, they met, and they spent three day together. After that, the woman was pregnancy. All of this thing; the man didn’t know. As for him, the woman hasn’t any effect of his life. There were difference kind of woman appeared in his life. He promised that he would come back and went to see her, but he hasn’t. In fact, the man wouldn’t remember the woman and he never cared about who she was. But this poor woman always believed that he would come or write a letter to her, so she waited him all the time.

At last, the poor woman gave birth to a boy. And she even thanked for the man gave this present to her. From that on, as for her, the baby was her beloved. She taken care of the boy as seem the man was stayed with her. Because of the baby, she began to miss the man a few times. She became a Courtesan just for gave her baby a good education. And she also refused propose three time of a rich man. She didn’t want to betray the writer; she hope the man would remember her in the future. At that time, how happiness she felt. Unfortunately, the baby was died by the flu.

The woman lost her hope, she decided to kill herself. Before her died, she wanted let the man known everything, so the letter was came into his hands. After read the letter, the man were shocked, but he just remembered a little that there was a girl who lived opposite his house and a beauty girl were stayed alone with him that day, but he could discern her face.

After reading this book, it makes me surprised. What an amazing story. I love you, but it isn’t your business. The hostess loves the hero all her life, even though have a baby with him, but the man never known the woman who she was. What kind of power made her or supposed her finished it. Perhaps it is love.

This book showed us a love story about an infatuation woman through a letter. We could say she was a great woman; she lived for love and died for love. All of her life was around love. We could also say she was a poor woman, because she fell in love with a man who never known about her. If she get marry with the rich man, she life maybe change. However, she wouldn’t do that, the man was her life, if she give up love him, it seem that she give up her life. Just like their baby, the baby died, her life and her love were died too.

In this social, the boy and girl have difference opinion about love. Some of them think love is divine and need to be serious. Other people think love is unreliable, just for joy. But this kind of behaviors will bring hurt of the person who loves you. The person who hurt someone love you never known that how unlucky she or he is. Maybe we can put this entire mistake into that day when we meet each other. We should cherish everybody around us, intention of other. You do not know that if there is a person who loves you very much, but you hurt her because you’re careless.
