When I was in kindergarten, I was such a naughty boy that I could not even sit quietly for over three minutes. Whenever I was free from going to kindergarten, I would rush out of my home and play with my friends until the very night. Maybe many of my peers were preparing for primary school, but I still enjoyed myself playing all day long.
However, mum rarely scolded me for that. Instead, she decided to arouse my curiosity with her patience. As I was not willing to read even a short fairy tale, she would read story books to me every day before I went to sleep. Her voice was slow yet emotional, and gradually, I was transported to the wonderland. As days went by, I started to hold a book in the evening and had a good time with words as well as pictures. In the meantime, I had so many peculiar questions that I could not help asking mum. Ridiculous as they might be, she always had enough patience to answer them. Probably, that is the reason for my curiosity about new things.
As my interest in the world increased, I loved to ask a large range of questions to my mother, especially before lunch and supper. I went to extremes again, for I gained so much pleasure in the process that I never wanted to eat anything at the table. Mum did not ignore my bad habit. She told me that only if I had lunch and supper would she answer the questions. I often got ill during my childhood, but I did not become very thin eventually thanks to mum.
In primary school, although there was only a little homework and it was usually quiet easy for me, I was always unwilling to do it. It was mum, who was engaged in her work in the meantime, that always urged me to finish it carefully. I have developed a good habit of taking seriously all my tasks since then, and now, I can still see a similar quality from mum.
Mum is an ordinary woman, without which, nonetheless, it would be impossible for me to stand here and share my unique background. Those years were essential to me in that that period of time has played an important part in making me what I am today.
