Childcraft The How and Why Library, Complete 15 Volume Set, 1964 Edition
这是一套老书。距今近60年了。但没有违和感！
查了一下，在Amazon上仍在卖。评价给力。就让这些评价代表我的心情吧。
之所以有感情，是因为我淘到过一本，是第14卷，这一卷讲的是认识自我。内容上图片丰富，语言简单，适合孩子阅读。
此外，比较认同的一点是：内容来源比较多元，是放眼世界的那种。
近日来居家隔离，吃饭时翻一下，很有感。

顺便查了一下评价，大多怀旧。不错。

My own set was ruined. I spent a lot of time in my youth with these books, so happy to have them back. Sets in great condition and for a super price!

It is wonderful to have a copy of my, favorite, childhood encyclopedia.

Growing up, my parent bought this set (in 1964) and I would often grab a volume and sit behind our sofa and read chapter after chapter. Because of this I was very early on introduced to some of the great artists of the world. Eventually I became an art teacher and taught art history for many years. The seed was planted because of these books. Each chapter in each volume is illustrated and the pictures are captivating. This set is a great collection of books to get for a child in your family who has been reading for a few years. Even now as an adult I find the stories well written and accurate. This set was quite influential to me in learning to love books and reading in general. These are well written and the stories are not too long. They can easily be read as bedtime stories too.

I had a set of these as a kid. What a treasure. Because of them, I learned about Ghandi, Churchill, Goodyear, Marconi, Rembrandt, etc. at a very young age. Jumping ahead, I saw a set of later edition Childcraft in the library of my granddaughter's elementary school (she is now 20 and a college senior). Sadly, they weren't the ones I remember. Granted, a lot of the information in some of the other volumes is now out of date. However, for the stories alone about historical figures, I can't recommend these books strongly enough.
