We challenged ourselves to create a visual language for our users that synthesizes the classic principles of good design with the innovation and possibility of technology and science. This is material design.

原则
1.隐喻(Material is the metaphor)(理解:要符合物理世界的规律)
A material metaphor is the unifying theory of a rationalized space and a system of motion.
原质化隐喻是一个统一了合理空间和运动系统的理论。Material建立在现实触觉的基础上,灵感来自对纸张和油墨的研究。
The fundamentals of light, surface, and movement are key to conveying how objects move, interact, and exist in space and in relation to each other.
基本的光效、表面质感和运动感是表达物体运动规律、交互方式、空间关系的关键。
2.大胆的,形象的,有意的(Bold, graphic, intentional)(理解:视觉元素的选取原则)
The foundational elements of print-based design—typography, grids, space, scale, color, and use of imagery—guide visual treatments. These elements do far more than please the eye. They create hierarchy, meaning, and focus.
印刷设计的基础元素——排版、栅格、空间、比例、配色和图像的运用,很好地指导了视觉设计的处理。这些元素不仅用于取悦用户,还建立起层级、喻义和焦点。
3.动效(Motion provides meaning)(理解:动效是有意义、有引导作用的)
Motion is meaningful and appropriate, serving to focus attention and maintain continuity. Feedback is subtle yet clear. Transitions are efficient yet coherent.
动效是有意义的、合理的,目的是引起用户的关注和维持体验的连续性。动效的反馈是细腻的、清爽的。转场动画需要有高效而连贯的。
