    #句子篇

    1. When 3:00 rolled around, we looked outside to see if anyone had showed up. And sure enough, there were about neighborhood kids waiting in line outside Rowley's basement.

分析:roll around: (of time or event) to happen

    there be句型的用法。there be 句型中谓语动词即为be(带有相应形式变化),如果句子中另出现动词,则使用其相应的非谓语形式。

There were twenty about neighborhood kids waiting...

造句:When 7:00 rolled around, the famous band showed up. There were so many people watching the live show.

    2. I admit that if you looked around, it didn't really look like a haunted house. All we had time to put together was the Hall of Screams and the Lake of Blood, which was just Rowley's old baby pool with half a bottle of ketchup in it.

分析:All we had time to put together was...本句中we had time to put together是省略了引导词that的定语从句。先行词为不定代词all, 也是本句的主语,因此谓语动词用单数was.

    which引导非限制性定语从句,打逗号与主语隔开。先行词为the Lake of Blood, 在定语从句中做了主语。

    baby pool

    a bottle of ketchup: 一瓶番茄酱

造句:If you looked around you'll find that I haven't finished my homework yet. All I have read was just a few pages of the introduction part, which had no relation to the main plots.

    #作文篇

Tonight my brother and I decide to throw a special party at home. To let the word out we printed a bunch of flyers two days ago. When 7:00 rolls around, many cars pull up in our driveway. There are many friends waiting in line beside the door. My brother puts on his hockey mask and shows up with a rubber blade chainsaw in his hands. "Let's make a killing!" My brother says to me. I feel way excited when our friends cough out 10 bucks for the admission. Actually, I do not mean to brag or anything, but our party gains real success. And we end up with clearing 400 bucks.
