What does ‘a cold welcome ’ refer to?
On Wednesday evening, we went to the Town Hall.
It was the last day of the year and a large crowd of people had gathered under the Town Hall clock.
It would strike twelve in twenty minutes' time.
Fifteen minutes passed and then, at five to twelve, the clock stopped.
The big minute hand did not move.
We waited and waited, but nothing happened.
Suddenly someone shouted, 'It's two minutes past twelve!
The clock has stopped!' I looked at my watch. It was true.
The big clock refused to welcome the New Year.
At that moment everybody began to laugh and sing.

练习感悟：
真想说晚上练习一点都不在状态，感觉特别累（因为白天上整天的班熬的太狠了）本来想着今天早上起来早点练习，结果发现会影响室友就犹豫了最后计划也泡汤了！感觉自己还是太懒！
在回来的路上还想怎么解决今天的朗读其实是怕自己放弃，还好我坚持了一下。
