II. Summary & Reflection
从今天开始,阅读到本书最后一部分:Atititudes。
本章节The sound of your voice, Zinsser 反复提到两个词:taste&cliches。特别是拿出E.B.White的文章来进行分析。
Perfect taste, like perfect pitch, is a gift from God. But a certain amount can be acquired.
关于如何做到breeziness & taste,Zinsser 提出一定要imitation。
Imitation is part of the creative process for anyone learning an art or a craft.
Don't worry that by imitating them you'll lose your own voice and your own identity. Soon enough you will shed those skins and become who you are supposed to become.
A writer with an ear for language will reach for fresh imagery and avoid phrases that are trite.
