When I got in the classroom, I saw Today's plan on the blackboard by Theresa. I must say that Theresa is an approachable lady.
Gary gave us the first lesson. He told us he would teach us a new language——Swedish today, And in this class all of us are only speaking Swedish. The first, Gary said 'Ja hia ta Gary.' to us. We were automatic repeat. Then Gary said 'Hva heter du...?' to us. We also do that, so Gary repeated to one of us with a raise voice and body language. The student understood and answered quickly 'Ja hia ta...'. After, Gary asked some of us randomly.

The third, Gary repeated 'Hva hetter du...', at the same time, he gave everyone a card with a Swedish name and read it. After that, Gary chose students randomly asking them to make a dialogue with the new name. Then, Using the new name to make a dialogue with others.
The fourth, Gary shown us the 'he/she' in Swedish through pictures. After that, Gary taught us how to say 'Yes/No' in Swedish through general questions 'Is he.../Is she...?' in Swedish. Then we communicate with others.
The fifth, Gary wrote the letters on the blackboard one by one. He let us read. When we were right, Gary would continue. Although we made lots of noise, we all joined. Gary always looked and listened with a smile who never interrupted us.
The sixth, Gary taught us a new sentence 'Kan du stavar dat for meg?', Then he asked us using the Swedish name to answer. After that, practice with classmaters.
The seventh, Gary showed us how to write new sentences in Swedish.
How to teach a new language? Language as a communication tool to speak is very important. There were twenty students and sat in a circle. Gary didn't devide clear group. So we sometimes worked in pairs, sometimes worked three or five in a group, sometimes worked in a men and women mixed group or sometimes worked with others randomly. In the whole class, Student played a leading role and everyone joined in it. All of us had a hightly motivated. In the study, someone accepted quickly and someone accepted slowly, someone was higher in understanding ability, someone was lower in understanding ability. Gary gave us a good example how to make the accept quickly's help the accept slowly's, how to make the higher's help the lower's in a class. And Gary payed great attention to the practice of new knowledge.
As a student who studies a language in the first time, I like Gary's teaching very much.
